Prasanth on Thursday unveiled a calendar for removal of non-biodegradable waste in the city through various facilities at regular intervals as part of the Corporation’s My City, Beautiful City project. The facilities include aerobic bin units, material recovery facilities, and resource recovery centres. The material recovery facilities are at Punnapuram, Sreekanteswaram; near the Palayam market; near the Peroorkada market; and on the Kuravankonam-Nanthancode road. From the material recovery facilities, which is an interim facility, these will be transported to the resource recovery centres such as those at Muttathara. The vehicles will collect waste from roadsides and transport it to aerobic bins for conversion into manure.
