New mural in Ngāruawāhia paints local chief Ngaere

A chapter in the story of Ngāruawāhia has been painted in a dramatic mural at the Point. Acclaimed street artist Graham Hoete, or 'Mr G', created the work on the Ngāruawāhia Squash Club wall, after being asked by residents to depict the town's history. The mural shows 17th century chief Ngaere, who played an important role in naming the town.
