New year, new changes for transit riders

Transit service changes start Jan. 5, 2026 for passengers across the Lower Mainland, impacting 37 bus routes and the SeaBus service. The transit authority says the changes will address overcrowding, improve convenience and extend the hours of service. Notable bus changes include more trips for route 609 that go to and from Tsawwassen. Denis Agar, the executive director of transit rider advocacy group Movement, rode the first additional route 80 bus service on Jan. 5. More details on services changes can be found on translink.ca.
