Newborn puppies with umbilical cords attached dumped in box on side of roadThey are only thought to be a day oldView Image The puppies were dumped in Nantwich (Image: Animal Lifeline/Facebook)An appeal has been launched after newborn puppies with their umbilical cords still attached were dumped in a box on the side of the road. The seven tiny black and tan pups were callously abandoned in Nantwich on Monday night (February 16). Now Stoke-on-Trent-based dog charity Animal Lifeline is desperately searching for their mum to give them the best chance of survival. Animal Lifeline - which has its kennels in Cellarhead - wrote on social media: "We were contacted by one of our vets to say that some newborn pups had been dumped in a box at the side of the road in Nantwich. "These pups still have umbilical cords attached and eyes shut so are barely more than a day old so it is a massive undertaking to handrear them.
