There’s an excellent article by George Caulkin and for Chronicle reporter Chris Waugh today, about Newcastle’s stance in the January transfer window. And they report that Newcastle do not want to lose any of their experienced players this month – including Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson. The feeling from the higher-ups at the club is that we need the experience of Trippier and Wilson for the second half of the season and it’s going to be very difficult for Newcastle – difficult for us to qualify for European competition. It appears we need money coming in during January to bring in at least a central midfielder on loan to replace the injured Joelinton and the banned Sandro Tonali. It’s not clear at the moment that we can do that.
