Nicola Sturgeon was eyed up as Humza Yousaf's "EU envoy" which he promised as part of his independence vows to SNP delegates. It forms part of the SNP plans to forge closer links with the Bloc to help them with the accession if they ever succeed in breaking up the UK. This was cemented in the Scottish Government's citizenship prospectus where officials confirmed there were no plans for a vote on applying to rejoin the EU. Briefings seen by the Scottish Daily Express revealed that the former First Minister was being eyed up as a potential candidate for the EU envoy mission. As part of this, a "permanent SNP presence" was suggested in Brussels, separate from the current Scottish Government "Scotland House."
