Nigel Farage announces plans to slash vital benefit to fund 5p cheaper pints

Nigel Farage has unveiled plans to restore the two-child cap to allow Reform to slash 5p off the price of a pint. Reform had promised to scrap the two-child benefit limit, but now the party intends to funnel the support to the most vulnerable into slashing prices in pubs. The Reform UK leader unveiled a five-point support package for pubs, which will also reportedly include slashing beer duty by ten per cent and implementing a staggered business rate abolition for every boozer. It is estimated that lifting the limit, which was introduced by the Tories in 2017, will lift 450,000 children out of poverty by 2029. Mr Farage claims his plan to “save Britain’s pubs” will be cost neutral as £3billion in savings are made by reinstating the two-child benefit limit, except in working households comprising British citizens.
