President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Abuja, called for constitutional resolution of the current political stalemate in Liberia and appealed to all concerned parties to patiently await the verdict of the Supreme Court. The president who made the call while receiving Togolese President, Faure Gnassingbe, who is also the current Chairman of ECOWAS, said he was hopeful that the awaited Supreme Court verdict would pave the way for peaceful transfer of power. The statement added that the ECOWAS Chairman said he had come to visit Buhari over a myriads of challenges facing the West African region with a view to securing his counsel on the best way to resolve the issues. According to the statement, Gnassingbe said they both reviewed the political debacle in Liberia, Guinea Bissau and Togo, and also discussed the ongoing reform in ECOWAS. “The ECOWAS Chairman said the institution’s Heads of State meeting will be held in Abuja in December,” the statement added.
