The Christ Holy Church Female Ensemble bagged a gold medal in the female choir category during the recently concluded African Choral And Gospel Championship. The competition, which hosted about 600 participants across the African continent, for its inaugural edition, took place in the city of Kigali, Rwanda from 22nd to 28th March, 2022. The African Choral and Gospel Championship is a pan-African choral festival aimed to celebrate African music, with the motive of uniting nations. The inaugural edition was organised in collaboration with Chorale de Kigali – a local choir with a membership of about 60. Nigeria’s multiple award-winning choir, the Lagos City Chorale, thrilled the large audience with scintillating performances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and positivity of Nigeria both in choice of indigenous folk repertoire.
