Ninh Hai district is a traditional salt harvesting area in Ninh Thuan province with a total area of around 562ha. Salt producers can harvest around 1 ton of salt from a 1,000sq.m evaporation pond every week. Salt producers are busy harvesting salt from the Khanh Hoi evaporation pond.
