SEPANG: STRICT passenger screening and a thorough shakedown at the country’s main airports have foiled thousands of attempts to bring banned liquids, aerosols and gel items (LAGs) on board aircraft. The scope of the law, however, does not give much bite to airport authorities to go beyond removing the items. The ICAO ruling applies to all international passengers departing from or transiting on commercial flights (including charter flights) at all international airports. Many offenders also argued with airport authorities to be exempted from the rule.
