Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy announced that there will be no increases in petroleum product prices until October 2026. A flexible pricing system is being implemented for octane and diesel in the Egyptian market to ensure price stability. During an interview with the “On My Responsibility” TV show on Sunday, the minister added that the lowest cost of gas in Egypt comes from domestic production, followed by gas transported via pipelines, and then gas regasification vessels. He explained that increasing domestic gas production contributes to reducing import costs, noting that Egypt is striving to increase its production and link it with neighboring countries. Badawy pointed out that Egypt produces 72 percent of its octane needs, and 55 percent of its diesel needs, with the remainder being imported, while efforts underway to meet domestic production in the future.
