LAHORE: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has announced that no land will be seized by force for the Ravi Urban Development Project (RUDP) and the project will be completed in three phases, Pakistan Today learnt on Friday. So far, only eight court cases have been filed against illegal housing schemes but no such thing was reported by common citizens,” a RUDA spokesperson said. The first phase will involve 28 feet high walls being constructed on both sides of the Ravi River to protect the citizens from floods. He further said that at present, innumerable settlements have been formed in the flood-prone area along the Ravi River. India has blocked Pakistan’s water by building a dam on the Ravi River.
