The defense in the Noor Mukadam murder case on Wednesday requested the Islamabad trial court to provide them with the full record of the CCTV footage of the incident. Earlier, the trial court had ordered the investigation officer to unseal the CCTV footage and give copies to the lawyers representing Zahir and his parents. On the directions of the court, the police gave Zahir water to drink. A notification issued by Pemra stated that “telecast of CCTV footage” of Noor and Zahir has been prohibited under Section 27 of the Pemra Ordinance, 2002. The authority directed all “TV channels to stop airing [the] CCTV footage” immediately and warned of “strict action… against violators”.
