HÀ NỘI — Train ticket prices will be reduced on the North-South railway route and some other routes following the Tết (Lunar New Year) holiday period, Việt Nam Railway Corporation (VNR) said on Thursday. The reduction of train ticket prices, from 10 per cent to 20 per cent depending on the route, began on Thursday and will continue until February 18. VNR noted that passengers on air-conditioner soft sleeper-seat trains would see a price reduction on routes of over 900km. Individual passengers travelling on trains on the Huế City-HCM City and central Đà Nẵng City-Hà Nội routes will see reduction of 25 per cent. Passengers on the North-South route who booked train tickets 20 days before the departure date will have the price reduced, ranging from 20 per cent to 50 per cent.
