The deaths of two men whose helicopter crashed while attempting to help people trapped by a fire were "unnecessary", a coroner has found. The next morning a police search and rescue team found the pair, still in their safety harnesses in the helicopter seven metres underwater. De Ridder had been contracted to fight the fire with a monsoon bucket using his helicopter.
