OPP warn about speeding after five drivers charged with racing over course of 48 hours


CHATHAM-KENT, Ont.—Ontario Provincial Police are warning the public about the dangers of excessive speed, after five drivers were charged with racing over the course of 48 hours. 401 Monday night, they clocked a vehicle travelling more than 150 kilometres per hour — nearly twice the posted speed limit in the area. The next evening, provincial police say they observed two more drivers travelling at excessive speeds. Meantime, police in Guelph say they’ve charged two local men with dangerous driving, flight from police and racing, after an incident Wednesday evening. Guelph police say they observed two vehicles that “appeared to be racing” along a road on the city’s west side.
