Tim Armstrong, the CEO of Verizon subsidiary Oath, the parent company of HuffPost, announced that he is leaving the company in an email to employees on Wednesday. He’d previously served as the CEO of AOL, which was acquired by Verizon in 2015. Gowrappan is slated to begin his tenure as CEO of Oath on Oct. 1. Armstrong will serve as a strategic adviser to the company before formally leaving at the end of 2018, Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg wrote in his own email to staff on Wednesday.
