The police suspects that Malay Mookerjee (82) was killed by robbers who entered his room by breaking open the rear door of his house in order to steal valuables. "It appears that the robbers, for or five of them, tried to cut open the wire mess covering the verandah to enter the house. Mookerjees body was first seen by his maid servant who visited the house early in the morning. State Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Aroop Biswas, who happened to be the family friend of the Mookerjees, also visited the house.
