Offaly duo nominated for hurling team of the yearRising Offaly stars Adam Screeney and Liam Hoare have been announced as part of the 2026 Electric Ireland GAA Higher Education Rising Stars Hurling Team of the Year. Screeney represented the eventual winners, University of Limerick, while Hoare kept goals for University of Galway. Screeney contributed a point as UL defeated Mary Immaculate College Limerick in the final at Croke Park by 4-31 to 3-21. Champions UL, reflecting their dominance, have seven players selected. The Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup Player of the Year will be revealed during the awards event on Monday, March 30.
