Ogun tricycle riders arraigned, remanded for cement theft


The Ogun State Police Command has arraigned three tricycle riders for the alleged theft of 300 bags of cement. The suspects, Lawal AbdulRaheem, Olalekan Azeez and Opeloyeru Kayode, were arraigned on three counts of conspiracy, stealing and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace before the Ijebu-Igbo Magistrates’ Court. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the defendants allegedly stole the bags of cement from the Sandtrust Quarry Company. He said, “The company said it had about 900 bags of cement and noticed that about 300 bags had been removed and its officials saw some of the bags of cement inside the bush being loaded into the suspects’ tricycles. He ordered that they be remanded in the Ijebu-Ode Correctional Centre pending the perfection of their bail conditions.
