Oisin takes silver medal at International Chemistry Olympiad

A student from St Peter’s College has won a silver medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad having finished in the top 50 out of more than 300 entrants from all over the world. Oisín O'Feinneadha was the top Irish student at the event which was due to take place in Tokyo but had to be held remotely due to Covid-19 restrictions. Facing a five-hour exam which was held in Trinity College, Oisin finished 48th overall earning himself a silver medal at the premier chemistry competition for students worldwide. With ambitions to one day be a lecturer and researcher at a top university, Oisin said his family were incredibly proud of him and he wished to thank everyone at St Peter’s for the help and guidance he received there. And having received his Leaving Cert results last Friday it should come as no surprise that this impressive young man achieved eight H1s and the highest possible number of points, 625.
