Even when they claim to have such an option – it is always inferior to seamless Google Maps' real-time traffic updates. The next step were Google’s AndroidAuto and Apple’s CarPlay applications that started being adopted by many car manufacturers in 2016. These applications run on the mobile device and allow driver to display Google Maps app and a few others, such as Spotify and Google Music, on the car’s Infotainment Unit. Additionally, issues with cars’ infotainment systems go beyond just audio and navigation - many car manufacturers implement very different approaches, when creating their own infotainment systems. It was about time for a mobile technology to lead the way to a unified, friendly user experience in our cars.
