Oldham residents can 'shape the future' of the borough

The council is preparing a new local plan which will guide and manage growth and developments, such as housing, the local economy and community facilities, up to 2039. Cllr Elaine Taylor, cabinet member for housing and licensing, said: “The local plan is a really important document that will shape the future of Oldham for the next 15 years, including how we make decisions on planning applications. Residents can share their views on a wide range of topics including climate change and flood risk, housing, transport, employment and economy, along with other categories. The draft is being prepared alongside Places for Everyone – the long-term plan of nine Greater Manchester councils for jobs, homes and sustainable growth. The consultation, which can be taken online by searching "big Oldham conversation" on the council's website, is open until Wednesday, February 21.
