Somerset all rounder Craig Overton is the only other player named in the squad who has not played in an England Test side this year, the last of his four Tests coming against Australia in 2019. But they have also impressed Silverwood during their stints in the wider squad, in training where established players have been pushed. “James Bracey and Ollie Robinson deserve their call ups to the Test squad. Having spent all winter and last summer in the company of our established Test players, they have immersed themselves in preparing and understanding what it takes to play at this level.
