Michael Vaughan said on the radio at the weekend that the ECB should have conducted “due diligence” on Ollie Robinson before selecting him for the England team. At first, I assumed that Vaughan was talking about due diligence on Robinson’s qualities as a bowler. In fact, Vaughan was talking about something else.
