Ollie Robinson has decided to take a break from cricket and will not play for Sussex in their first two Vitality Blast matches after his suspension from international cricket by the ECB last week because of historic racist and sexist posts on social media. The ECB suspended the 27-year-old seam bowler “pending investigation” into the tweets but, as he is not a centrally contracted player, that suspension did not extend to playing in county cricket. In theory, Robinson was eligible for selection by Sussex for their first Blast match tomorrow evening, although the county said that they would not be imposing their own sanctions on the 6ft 5in bowler.
