Sarah Healy and Sophie O’Sullivan got their championships underway in the heats of the Women’s 1500m with both finishing seventh to miss out on automatic qualification for the semi-finals and drop into the repechage. Sharlene Mawdsley and Sophie Becker missed out on qualification for the women’s 400m finishing third and second respectively in their repechage heats. All eyes will be on tonight's women’s lightweight (60kg) Olympic final, where Kellie Harrington looks to retain her Olympic title against China’s Wenlu Yang at 10.06pm.
