In line with his yearly social intervention project, the former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has offset the two million, three hundred thousand naira (N2.3m) bills of 17 patients who could not pay their medical bills after receiving treatment at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife in Osun State. “I, however, appeal to good-spirited people in the society to assist other patients who are still in the hospital because of lack of money to offset their medical bills and to also reach out to the needy in the society,” he said. He also appealed to other well-meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of the hospital, noting that the hospital is in dire need of infrastructures. A minute silence was, however, observed for Chairman, Medical Advisory Council of the hospital, Prof. Jerome Elusiyan, who was killed a few weeks ago. Omisore also sent relief materials to the Convenant Orphanage and Welfare Centre in Moro, another community within the Ile-Ife metropolis, after leaving the OAUTH.
