Ondo govt, Labour agree on N30,000 new minimum wage

The Ondo State government and the organised labour in the state have agreed on the payment of the N30,000 new minimum wage which will take effect from January . This agreement was sequel to a series of meetings and negotiations between the government and the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state. The labour leaders agreed on full payment of the new wage from level six downwards while level seven and above had experienced consequential adjustment. The state’s Head of Service, Mr. Oluwadare Aragbaye, appreciated the labour leaders for their understanding, saying the state government would continue to give priority to the welfare of workers in the state. The labour leaders, however, appealed to the state government not to sack or retrench workers in the state under any disguise and solicited for recruitment of more workers in the state’s civil service.
