NewsOne person was killed after a three-wheeler collided with a train at an unprotected level crossing in Thandikulam, Vavuniya last evening. The three-wheeler had collided with the Colombo-Jaffna Express at around 4.30pm near an unprotected level crossing located close to Thandikulam railway station, police stated. Area residents alleged that the reason for the accident is that the level crossing is unprotected and there is no guard to warn people of oncoming trains.
