Some 16% of over 60s would return to living exactly as they had before, compared to 7% of the population under 60. Poorer households, people who live alone and those without children were less likely to make changes to their routine. Cheryl Lloyd, of the Nuffield Foundation, said the findings raised questions about whether inequalities could be exacerbated for the more disadvantaged. She said: “While many respondents say they would make lifestyle changes after the pandemic, this is less likely to be the case amongst people from lower income households.
