Op-ed: Tackling three scopes of carbon emissions in e-mobility


Scope 2: These are “indirect” emissions created by the production of the energy that an organisation buys. Installing solar panels or sourcing renewable energy rather than using electricity generated using fossil fuels would cut a company’s Scope 2 emissions. Scope 3 is the hardest and according to a report by Deloitte usually makes up about 70% of an organisation’s carbon footprint. Since then, there has been a flurry of activity in the industry with China taking the lead by providing affordable, reliable electric vehicles. In doing so, you will have started slaying the dragon that is scope 3 emissions.
