An open-air poetry event is returning to Slough tomorrow after a four-year hiatus. Poetry in the Park, a ‘captivating evening under the open skies’ at Salt Hill Park was last held in 2019, before the pandemic. The beloved outdoor poetry event, launched by EMPOWORD in conjunction with Together as One (formerly Aik Saath) in 2014, will return today (September 8) at 6.30pm. Creative producer at EMPOWORD and artist, Desree said: “Spoken word and poetry are such accessible artforms. Slough’s annual open-air poetry event began as a young person’s initiative, encouraging poets, storytellers, rappers and comedians of all backgrounds and lyrical styles to perform.
