SATURDAY PUZZLE — We’ve seen Yacob Yonas’s work before, but only in collaboration. There’s certainly a lot to like in the cluing, some wry humor and some interesting bits and pieces. Tricky Clues1A: I tend to look for kookiness on a Saturday, so straight clues keep me on my toes. There’s something charming about ALPHA NERD, which may seem like an oxymoron, but only in a bully-centric society. People don’t want to spend time on ONEOFFS, tasks that don’t “scale,” get a lot of attention, or solve bigger problems.
