The latest whataboutism issue swap is affirmative action in college admissions and how we should be much more worried about legacy admissions. While a few have gotten rid of legacy admissions, most have held onto them despite the pressure. A whopping 42 percent of legacy graduates were flagged as potential top donors, which could include their whole family. The other big justification, however, is that when legacy students apply, they tend to stay with that choice. There’s an idea going around that legacy students are bad students.
