ORGANISERS have been forced to axe a major New Milton community coronation celebration after ticket sales failed to improve. The Coronation Dinner Dance had been due to take place at the town’s memorial centre on the evening of Saturday 6th May – the day King Charles III is crowned. But, as reported in last week’s A&T, sales of the £30-a-head tickets were branded “abysmal” by trustee Alan Watson. New Milton Memorial CentreHe believed a perceived nationwide apathy towards the royal event may have been partly to blame for the lack of interest. It has already raised hundreds of pounds towards the memorial centre’s refurbishments.
