KUALA LUMPUR: Muay exponent Ain Kamaruddin of Malaysia pulled off a major upset when he defeated world champion Thachtana Luangphon from Thailand in the 54-57kg final at the Malaysian International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MiTEC) Hall 8 here Tuesday. The 25-year-old Kelantanese, who had only won a bronze at the 2013 Myanmar SEA Games, upstaged the Thai 29-28. Malaysia won their second gold through Mohd Ali Yaakub in the men's 51-54kg. Tengku Sharizal Tengku Abdul Rahman earlier settled for the silver medal when he lost 27-30 in the final bout of the 63.5-67kg final to Thai exponent Mana Samchaiyaphum. Malaysia's other medal a bronze came from Muhamad Samsi Mohd Noor in the men's 67-71kg.
