Over 121 boys under the age of 11 years were sodomised in Nairobi county between the months of January and September. This is according to data from the Kenya Health Information system. The same statistics show that 87 boys aged between 12 and 17 were defiled while there were 1,568 rape cases among young girls. “552 girls below the age of 11 were also defiled between January and September,” the data said. The President’s Advisor on Women's Rights Harriette Chiggai said that this rise in cases of defilement is worrying.
