Chijioke Felix, a 14-year-old boy, suffered severe pains after Chibuzo Nwachukwu, his guardian, beat him and rubbed pepper on his wounds for allegedly stealing a phone. Nwachukwu, who lives in the Shomolu area of Lagos, was reported to have done this after beating the teenager on Sunday. A source, who asked not to be named, told FIJ Felix ran out of his guardian’s house for succor in a neighbour’s house around 9 pm. We did not arrest Nwachukwu’s wife because she wasn’t the one that beat the boy. We told her to write a witness statement while we will invite the accused for questioning.”
