LEGAZPI CITY — Some P3.8 million worth of relief assistance were turned over the past weekend to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Southern Tagalog region from Bicol region. Marygizelle Mesa, DSWD Bicol spokesperson, said the relief assistance consisted of 5,000 food packs, 900 infant cereals, 318 ready to eat chicken arroz caldo from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and 3,000 sleeping kits. “One Bicol” for Taal, an emergency response initiated by DSWD Bicol, arrived on Monday afternoon in Batangas province. Eric Reborar, One Bicol team leader, said the group would help in manning evacuation centers, conduct psycho-social activities and water, sanitation, and hygiene management.
