Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani on Friday expressed his confidence in captain Sarfraz Ahmed and his leadership capabilities despite the debacle of Asia Cup 2018. The green shirts were crushed by a 37-run upset against Bangladesh in the last Super-Four match of the Asia Cup. Excluding Shoaib Malik, Babar Azam and Imamul Haq, the entire team’s batting and bowling performance had killed everyone’s hopes for the upcoming World Cup. However, the PCB chairman continues to support the current squad. We will have a brief discussion on it and we will also discuss Pakistan team’s performance in the Asia Cup,” Mani added while commenting on the appointment of a vice-captain.
