An aspirant for the position of National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, yesterday said his party would defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State in the 2019 general elections. The PDP chieftain challenged critics of micro-zoning to test their popularity at the December 9 elective national convention of the party. He said that despite coming from the home state of Buhari, he would ensure that PDP defeat the president’s All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina. We will defeat the president in Katsina State in the next general election,” he said. He spoke against the backdrop of criticisms trailing the micro-zoning of the position of national secretary to Katsina State by the PDP in the North West zone.
