PGMOL explains decision to rule out Man Utd goal for Scott McTominay's foul on Son Heung-min

Scott McTominay was penalised after his hand caught Son Heung-min’s face (Sky Sports)The Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL) has defended the decision to deny Manchester United a goal against Tottenham because of Scott McTominay’s foul on Son Heung-min. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side thought they had taken the lead against Tottenham in the first half through Edinson Cavani. But the Uruguayan’s effort was ruled out after McTominay’s hand caught Son in the build-up to the goal. Following a subsequent VAR check, referee Chris Kavanagh used the pitch-side monitor to rule out the goal after watching several replays of the incident. And at half time, the PGMOL supported Kavanagh’s decision, claiming that McTominay’s arm movement was unnatural.
