Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly underscored the importance of maintaining a balanced reform path that takes into account social dimensions, while continuing measures to support growth, stimulate the private sector and enhance the efficiency of public spending. Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk to follow up on the latest developments in cooperation between Egypt and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), following the swearing-in of new ministers before President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as part of the recent cabinet reshuffle. The meeting was held as part of efforts to ensure continued coordination with international partners and to support the state’s drive to achieve economic stability and advance the reform process. During the meeting, the finance minister reviewed the latest developments in the ongoing review process and the status of implementing commitments agreed upon under the cooperation program with the IMF. He also discussed key macroeconomic indicators, particularly public finance developments, debt management, foreign currency inflows and efforts to improve the investment climate.
