ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will formally launch the five million houses construction project during the first half of the next month while the process of registration will also commence with the launch of the project. This was decided during a meeting of the task force on housing with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair Thursday at the Prime Minister’s Office. The meeting was attended by Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, MNA Najeeb Haroon, Quarter-Master General (QMG) Lt Gen Moazzam Ajaz and others. The prime minister said that besides utilising the expertise of both the public and the private sectors, successful financial models including that of Akhuwwat would be replicated to ensure success and affordability. PM Khan directed the task force to expedite finalisation of the plan including the legislative framework for its consideration by the provincial and the federal governments.
