The former Padua's nightclub on Washington Street in Workington was a popular 'go-to' on the town's nightlife scene, ahead of its closure back in early 2025. "The Irish pub scene is growing in the UK at the moment... there are growing Guinness sales and everything else", said Phil. "There is nothing in the area as far as we can see like this, and so we thought that an Irish bar will be a popular venue in the town." When the pub re-opens, it will look at hosting afternoon entertainment such as acoustic singers, as well as 'carrying a real Irish pub vibe throughout'. There will be predominantly live music, with acoustic acts and an Irish vibe.
