The controversy originated from a viral post which surfaced on Nov 17, titled "How long will the fighting continue? Ms Pannika said the statement was not hers, noting that she did not appear on any programme or give interviews that day. Ms Pannika said fake news is being used to smear political parties ahead of the election and urged the public to be cautious of unverified content and manipulated videos.
