Parasailing death

An adventure flight in the skies turned fatal when a businessman fell to his death during a parasailing ride in Coimbatore on Sunday. According to the witnesses, Rao let go around 50 seconds into the flight, falling with a heavy thud amid screams from scores of onlookers. Malleswara Rao, 53, had come for a parasailing event organised by Indian Aero Sports and Science Club and Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital to commemorate the latter's golden jubilee. Babu, the head of the club, has been booked for causing death by negligence. The organisers noticed the slip and stopped the truck but the parachute remained suspended more than 70 feet above the ground because of the strong winds.
