The CCPA decided the Winter Session of Parliament will end on January 5. The opposition claimed the winter session which normally starts from the third week of November was delayed by the Government. The Government's counter was that there were several instances in the past when the winter session had started in December. Ananth Kumar had on Tuesday rejected the Congress's allegations of a "delay", citing precedents of the winter session held in December in 2008 and 2013 during UPA-II's rule.
